India vs England Women’s One-off Test Match: When and Where to Watch, Team Line-up, Pitch and Weather Forecast

India women’s cricket team are all set to take on England at the home of cricket, the iconic Lord's Cricket Ground in London on Friday. This day marks an historic occasion and Lord’s hosts its first-ever women Test match in its glorious 142 years of history and after hosting only men’s tests.

Team India, led by the veteran skipper, Harmanpreet Kaur head into the prestigious clash at Lord’s after suffering a 10-wicket loss against Australia in their previous test match at Perth. India’s recent form in overseas conditions has been a matter of serious concern, particularly against top-ranked oppositions.

While the Indian team will be proud of playing at the Lord’s in all-whites for the first time ever, they will also be motivated to bounce back from their recent setbacks. They will be keen to put up a disciplined performance on the field with both bat and ball.

Much is expected from the vice-captain of India, and the opening batter, Smriti Mandhana and the Mumbai-girl, Jemimah Rodrigues. Mandhana’s opening partner, Shefali Varma, too will look to give India a solid start at the top. While Deepti Sharma, Sayali Sathghare and company will be expected to play a key role with the ball.

England, on the other hand, come into the contest riding high on their recent form and performance. Although they haven’t played the longest-formant much in the recent past, the hosts had a strong campaign in the recently concluded T20 World Cup where they remained undefeated throughout the tournament, only to lose the final against Australia.

England always remains a formidable team, especially at home and they will be keen to maintain that winning momentum. With players like the experienced Heather Knight, one of the most talented all-rounders, Nat Sciver-Brunt and the young guns like Alice Capsey and Lauren Bell, they will surely pose a serious challenge to team India.

England vs India - Pitch Report

As always in Lord’s the first session of the match will be pivotal with the fast bowlers getting assistance from the wicket and both the teams will be looking to make the most of the new ball.

As the match progresses, the wicket is likely to ease down, making batting easier. Later in the test, spinners too will get some assistance off the deck and the pacers who can generate reverse swing could make a huge impact on the outcome of the game.

The team that wins the toss will look to bat first, and put up a big total of 325 or more to make the contest exciting.

England vs India - Weather Forecast
