Dzeko’s Emotional Farewell

In the same group there were some emotional scenes as Edin Dzeko played his last international match and he has decided to hang his boots for good after the match against Bosnia-Herzegovina's 1-1 draw at home against Sweden.

The 40-year-old, ex-Manchester City player who played as a forward scored a brace in the first half but the goal was disallowed as the ball went out of play in the build-up. However, Fireworks went off again just after 11 minutes as he celebrated his goal number 11 of his career in his 152nd international appearance. Dzeko got a much-deserved standing ovation when he was substituted in the 62nd minute in Zenica.

The celebrations in Bosnia-Herzegovina's camp continued after the match with an official ceremony and a guard given to the legend. There was even a drone show displaying a message to thank Dzeko for his immense contribution to the team and he was showered with soft toys from the crowd during his lap of honour.

For Sweden, Arsenal striker Viktor Gyokeres put his team in the front before Kerim Alajbegovic equalised for Bosnia-Herzegovina. In another match, Belgium captain Kevin de Bryune found the back of the net as his team beat Turkey 3-0 to move up to the second position in Group A1.

The 35-year-old Napoli mid-fielder scored a goal on either side of the half-time goal before the veteran Romelu Lukaku completed the scoring for Belgium. Liverpool defender Milos Kerkez scored the only goal as Hungary beat Georgia in Budapest to claim their first Nations League win of the campaign.
